WELCOME TO THE 2022/23 CRICKET SEASON

The Mount Waverley Junior Cricket Club offers children in the Monash community the facilities, know-how and support to nurture and develop their cricketing talent, aspirations and dreams. Run exclusively by volunteers, the Junior Club prides itself on the quality, values and vision of those charged with the responsibility of assisting children through their developmental years in the sport.

The Club offers junior player development for boys and girls from beginners through to advanced supporting various pathways for development and where possible, our Sunday U15 and U17 teams play home games on turf.

Last season saw the Club support more than 240 junior players participate in competitive inter-club cricket with the majority of teams participating in finals and three going on to win premierships in their respective age groups.

The Mt Waverley junior program is affiliated with both Inner South East Cricket (ISEC) for mixed competitions, and All-Girls Cricket Competition (AGCC) for the all girls teams. Both leagues form under Cricket Southern Bayside (CSB).

Mt Waverley Cricket Club have adopted the new format for junior Cricket as rolled out nationally by Cricket Australia. For more information on these new formats refer to the Junior Format information at Cricket Australia.

In the 2021/22 season MWCC Juniors will be fielding teams in the following age groups playing on the days indicated (where available):
ISEC Junior (mixed) cricket
Under 11 (Fri, Sat) – for players aged 8, 9 and 10 on 1st Sept
Under 13 (Fri, Sat, Sun) – for players aged 11 and 12 on 1st Sept
Under 15 (Fri, Sun) – for players aged 13 or 14 on 1st Sept
Under 18 (Fri, Sun) – for players aged 15, 16 or 17 on 1st Sept
* Note – some of these age classifications are subject to change pending direction from ISEC

AGCC All Girls Cricket
13 and under (Wed) – for players aged 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, or 13 on 1st Sept
16 and under (Sun) – for players aged 14, 15, or 16 on 1st Sept

Turf Cricket
Mt Waverley juniors are fortunate to have access to turf facilities as part as part of our Seniors Clubs participation in Victorian Sub-District Cricket. Turf Cricket is reserved for older age-groups and is not available on all days of play. In season 2022-23 we are looking to field turf teams in Under 17's, Under 15's and all-girls 16 & Under.
RETURNING PLAYERS

Returning player registrations are open. Registration is required to ensure a playing position in the coming season. A returning player is any junior player who played for Mt Waverley in the previous season including as part of the Cricket Blast program.
Returning players are required to read and agree to the terms outlined in the Registration Booklet.
The priority window for returning players is open until 17 August (after which new player registrations will be accepted and processed on the same basis).

Returning players must also ensure they are registered prior to the third week of pre-season training (Sunday 21 August) in order to participate in training – this is an insurance requirement.

NEW PLAYERS
New Players will be invited to register after 17 August (or as advised by the Club on this page). If you would like to ensure that you get an invite please email the Junior Registrar at mwccjuniors@hotmail.com

New Players will be placed once we can confirm the available playing spaces subject to demand from returning.
