About Mt Waverley Cricket Club Juniors

The Mount. Waverley Cricket Club was established in 1906.

The Senior Club is a member of the Victorian Sub-district Cricket Association, the fourth highest level of cricket in Australia. The costs involved in fielding a competitive first eleven at this level can be significant, unless in-house talent can be nurtured and developed to the standard required. The Club chooses to develop talent from within, and as a result, a full scale junior program is provided for children from the ages of 5 through 17, as a precursor to Senior Club cricket.

The Mount Waverley Junior Cricket Club plays in the ISEC (Inner South Eastern Cricket) league. It offers children in the community the facilities, know-how and support to nurture and develop their cricketing talent, aspirations and dreams. Run by volunteers, the Junior Club prides itself on the quality, values and vision of those charged with the responsibility of assisting the children through their developmental years in the sport.
We take seriously the trust you have placed in the Club to assist as your child learns the game of cricket, the expected values and conduct of its participants, and those of the Club.

Our philosophy is simple – we will make sure that everyone gets to have a go and we will provide every opportunity we can to ensure those who want to pursue higher levels of achievement can do that through time spent at the Mount Waverley Cricket Club.

The Club will do its best to provide the facilities and on-field support to allow every child representing the Club the maximum opportunity to achieve their optimum performance. In return, we require the off-field support of all Club Members so the Junior Program can function properly.
2017/18 was a very successful season both on and off the field for the juniors. We were recognized by ISEC with our 2nd Champion Club Award. We also had a successful Craig Shield carnival making the Semi Finals with a team made up largely with our own players. We had number of players selected in various representative cricket and had on named in the Australian under 16 cricket team following a great showing in the National Cricket Championships representing Victoria.

We will look to build on this success in the coming season. Our focus this year will be to:
further advance girls cricket, increase participation levels and retain girls in cricket.
work with Monash council on additional facilities for training and matches in line with the number of players and teams we field.
improve the uniform order, tracking and delivery process.

Support our coaches and improve the level of coaching provided to our young cricketers.

Run by entirely by volunteers, the club prides itself on the opportunities it provides for development and enjoyment of young cricketers. We require the off-field support of all members to enable Junior Program to function effectively. We are only as good as our volunteers, if you can assist in any way please reach out to me.

We look forward to a happy, healthy, uninterrupted and successful season of cricket.
